Does outsourcing help the American standard of living?

When computers first came out, they were all made in the USA and they cost thousands of dollars

Eventually computer manufacturing was moved overseas, and that brought the price of computers down, to where everyone could afford them

Now that everyone can afford computers, productivity in America has greatly improved, to the point where most Americans couldn't even function or earn a living without a computer

If computers were never outsourced, most would still never afford them

Is this just one of many examples of how outsourcing benefits America ?|||Computers became affordable when the market expanded and competition brought the price down and quality up. Other countries began competing in the market and exporting to America forcing American brands to lower price and increase speed, safety, etc. It had little to do with outsourcing.|||Depends upon which American you are ruminating...rich folks do great by outsourcing our jobs...plus, they get tax cuts to ship our jobs out...

All of the cheap crap in the world won't do any good, if no one makes enough in wages to purchase said crap...|||Does outsourcing help the American standard of living?

Just go to Walmart and you tell me.|||Outsourcing only hurts people stupid enough to work. It's all good.
