Is it wrong to think that the standard American is white?

Because the Founding Fathers surely thought so. If it is wrong, then wouldn't it be just as wrong for the Japanese to think that the standard Japanese citizen is Japanese?|||Most advocates of multiculturalism think it's wrong to force it on predominately non white countries, and yet somehow essential for predominately white countries. A huge double standard that most of them won't even bother trying to justify (most won't even discuss it). If you disagree they just assume you are racist.|||really?|||no its part of the norm|||Yes. Japanese is not a race.|||just like I said

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>|||Remember the phrase "all men are created equal"?|||The OEM replacement units are Caucasian , but there are a variety of after markets in a variety of shades.|||the standard American is American. The color of ones skin has nothing to do with it.|||the founding fathers lived over 200 years ago. Back when the only 3 races around were English whites, Native Americans, and African Slaves. Nowhere NEAR the melting pot we have today... yet only the whites were considered citizens, so I would say YES. It's wrong to think that.|||Yes it is, especially since white is barely the majority anymore.|||Well, we used to think that the standard American president believed in democracy, I don't know anymore.|||Yes because according to your logic the standard American would actually be Native American. Or English, or Dutch, or Irish... But not strictly white. Besides diversity is what makes us so interesting and dynamic.|||I would guess in those days, there was no such thing as diversity training. People weren't as educated in other cultures or cultures that to them appeared inferior because they didn't understand their language or their ways. There is no such thing as a standard American.|||i think our picture of the standard American is probably tied to who you're around for the most part. if there is nothing but white people for miles around you, than it's probably normal to think that. nothing but black people miles around, than it's probably normal to envision that. *shrug*

.

...hrm... now that i think about it, i don't know what i picture... i think i'm picturing people in my family?

.

anyhow... there is no "Standard" American.. that's why the 'one size fits all' types of policies are always doomed from the start|||Yes, but its getting to be all races and I think most people in the World would like to live in America- So in 25 years or so- it won't be mostly white- it will be more Muslim Islamics- they have 7 babies to whites 1.|||Yes, that is wrong. Our founding fathers also had slaves, and were around in a time when native americans, blacks, and practically anyone that looked different then them was thought of as inferior. And there is no "standard" white American because that would imply that you have to meet the requirement of skin color to be considered as a citizen, and that is backwards, ignorant, and prejudicial thinking.|||You do realize that "Japanese" is a nationality and, therefore, analogous to "American" rather than "white," don't you? Race is one thing; nationality is another.

In reality, the "standard American" is RED you dimwitted bigot. Native Americans are the true owners of this land.|||There are no standard Americans. Never were. Never will be.
