Where is the location of the Hi Limit Switch on an American Standard Furnace?

serial number:

TXC037C4HPB1|||if you that the upper panel off the furnaceyou will see the hi limit switch it as about 6 wire to it.|||that model # looks like a heat pump "air handler",any "high limits" that exist in it are located in the top compartment called the auxillary heat package,,best to have an hvac tech check/replace those......if its a relatively new GAS furnace [15 years old or less] then the high limit switch will have 2 wires connected to it and will be located just above the burners in an 80% eff furnace [metal vent pipe],,or just below the burners in a 90%+ eff [pvc plastic vent pipe] furnace...the wires are usually yellow..the limit is held in place by 2 screws on the sides of the limit......as far as the "thermostat",,do you mean the actual "klixon" switch part of the limit that inserts into the furnace when its mounted?,,its all the same part.....the "wall thermostat" is obviously in the home on a wall, dont quite understand what your asking on that part of question......dan|||The limit switch will be inside the panel and behind the burners. Again, unless you have some heating/cooling experience, I would not suggest messing around with the limit switch.|||there are other switches that might need to be reset too. Check every little component inside and out on your furnace. If a component has a little button then push it because it might be a reset.|||should be on thermostat
