You need to take it back apart..... something is either crooked or the threading is stripped.
Call the plumber who installed it and ask them to come fix it, they shouldn't charge you for this unless the hardware has to be replaced.
If you did it yourself, you will have to figure out what the problem is. Either with the handle itself being stripped, or the thing was put on crooked.|||take it apart again and re assemble ,it sounds as you have,nt tighened everything , go to a.s. web site under shower repair you will find the answer there
