We have an American Standard Cadete III toilet that needs to be flushed twice in order to clean out waste.?
I called American Standard and was told we needed a flush valve and this would correct the problem. A friend had the same problem and was told it was a casting problem. His toilet was under warranty. We don't use this toilet all the time and didn't try to correct the problem, thus the toilet is not under warranty. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?|||Sandra, American Standard Cadet toilets are a great, top of the line toilet. i personally have one and have installed many w/out any issues. if your having an issue with flushing, most important, check the water level inside the tank is set to at least 1/2 inch below the overflow tube. a poorly filled water tank will not provide the water needed to flush, specially since these are 1.6 gallon per flush toilets. otherwise, check the toilet flapper adjustment and ensure it is not closing too rapidly. all in all, sounds like an adjustment issue - best of luck|||you may need to check the vent line for blockages, cadet III toilets flush a larger volume of water at once than older toilets, so your vent needs to provide sufficient air.
