Difference between American Standard Jazz bass and Standard jazz bass?

I am just curious , because i intend to buy a Fender Jazz bass and the price difference between the American Standard and Standard is like a lot.





I intend to buy myself a Standard Jazz bass (not american standard) and then upgrade the Pickups to maybe bartolinis add a Bad *** Bridge and a Status Graphite neck to it . I am just wondering if i should go ahead with this if i purchase a Standard Jazz . Would buying the American Standard and then upgrading it make any difference if i upgraded a standard jazz bass with the above after-market products?|||Here are some reviews of the two instruments, you can get a few different points of view from people that have used them:

I would suggest going into a local music shop and trying them both out, what feels comfortable and is the best fit for you can often make a big difference in how you play the instrument. As far as upgrading with after market products, you will need to decide whether or not it is the right thing to do for you, depending on what you will using the instrument for. You can also ask about that at the music shop, just keep in mind that part of their job is to sell things, they want you to be a happy customer, but their bottom line is still sales.
