Difference between the American Strat and the Standard Strat?
I was going to get the squire, but I played my friends's and didn't like it. Now I'm looking at strats. Whats the difference between the standard and the american standard editions?|||Actually there are two standard strats available. One is made in the U.S.A. and the other is made in Mexico. The best thing to do is go and try some out. I prefer the american made strats myself but I have played some of the mexican ones that weren't too bad. As far as the differences go I think the american strats use a little bit better wood and the hardware, pickups and wiring seem to be of a better quality. I've played and worked on guitars for over forty years so i've learned the suttle differences. Of course there is a big price difference and a mexican strat is okay for someone on a tight budget that needs a decent guitar. But the american strat will definitely hold it's trade in value and overall value a lot longer than the mexican. Like i said go try some out and see what ya think. Good luck to ya.|||the standard strat is made in mexico. I would advise you to get out to a music store and try both and see if you think the price differential is worth it to spend more on the american strat. I have a MIM strat and it is very nice, but there are always a few clunkers as well and really nice guitars of the same model, so find one you like.|||the standard is made in Mexico, enough said?|||dont know
