What is a good way to change your accent to the standard american accent?

i am an aspiring actor and i wiould like to know a cheap way of changing my accent to the standard american accent?





Is taking an accent reduction class a good idea?





do you know any good classes in new york/new jersey?|||Wow....you hate the way you talk because the media told you it wasn't "standard". You changing your new york accent is just gonna contribute to feelings of inferiority and inadequacy and I find it distasteful.





Be proud ah da way ya tawk.|||I don't think that New York- the melting pot of America is a good way to learn "standard English." Go spend some time in Kansas or Iowa- middle America!
