Where do you think Standard American English is spoken?

This question came up in a linguistics class I am taking.


Basically where do US speakers of English think is Standard American English.


There is no right or wrong answer to this, it's strictly opinion. I also need to know what area the person is from (doesn't have to be the state just general area would be fine like new england, west coast, etc).|||To be honest, I never thought of there as being a correct way of speaking English. Everyone has their own way of speaking the language, and each is as correct as the next.





I personally speak like someone from the east coast, but don't think of other interpretations of English as wrong.|||Omaha, Nebraska
